I am not a “birder,” so the birds you find featured here will be those most commonly seen on the island, usually in the marsh or on the beach.
An Anhinga (Snakebird) swimming just off Pine Island. When swimming, only the neck remains above the water, giving the appearance of a snake about to strike,

- Not to be confused with the Cormorant. They look similar and share the same habitat, but the Cormorant is a stouter bird with a shorter neck.
